Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do you accept insurance? No. Max Health operates on a self-pay model. This allows us to focus on individualized care without insurance restrictions, prior authorizations, or coverage limitations. Insurance coverage often restricts dosing, medication forms, lab frequency, and clinical decision-making. Our model prioritizes medical appropriateness and individualized care rather than insurance criteria.
-
Yes. Max Health offers secure telehealth, allowing you to receive high-quality medical care without unnecessary travel or time away from your day.
While we do offer in-person visits, one of the ways we differentiate ourselves is by meeting you where you are—literally. Through telehealth, we’re able to serve patients anywhere across the state of Georgia, whether you’re at home, at work, or on the go.
To support this flexibility, required lab work can be completed at any of our partnered lab testing centers throughout Georgia, making it easy to get labs drawn close to home. Telehealth visits, convenient lab access, and provider-led care allow us to deliver seamless, comprehensive treatment without the limitations of traditional in-office models.
When an in-person evaluation or service is clinically indicated, we’ll coordinate that as well to ensure continuity of care.
-
Yes. When labs are ordered through Max Health, patients receive reduced self-pay pricing compared to standard retail lab rates. We are able to order labs through provider negotiated rates that allow us to pass those savings on directly to our patients.
-
Yes. Existing patients may request additional lab testing at discounted rates at any time.
-
Yes. Insurance companies often require testosterone levels below a specific cutoff—commonly 300 ng/dL—to approve treatment. These rules are set by insurers, not individualized clinical need. At Max Health, we evaluate symptoms, comprehensive labs, and overall health—not just a single number. Because we don’t rely on insurance approval, we’re able to determine whether treatment is appropriate based on medical judgment rather than coverage criteria. Testosterone therapy is only prescribed when clinically indicated.
-
Possibly. Many insurance-based practices are limited by strict coverage rules—often requiring a diagnosis like type 2 diabetes or specific BMI thresholds before GLP-1 medications are approved.
At Max Health, we do not operate under insurance restrictions. Instead, eligibility is determined through a comprehensive medical evaluation focused on your overall metabolic health, weight-related concerns, treatment goals, and safety considerations.
If GLP-1 therapy is medically appropriate for you, we can prescribe it without requiring insurance-mandated diagnoses or step-therapy hurdles. This allows for a more individualized, physician-directed approach—while still prioritizing safety, evidence-based care, and ongoing monitoring.

Medication needs, dosages, and formulations vary widely. Separating medication costs allows your treatment to remain fully personalized—you only pay for what you actually use.
